A broken spoke.
A missing tool. I lent it to that German cyclist back in Portland. Didn’t get that cassette remover back.
Suddenly after 10 km on the dirt road the expedition has ground to a stop. I can’t really proceed without the ability to fix spokes with another 825 km of rugged dirt road with no major settlements to get to Halls Creek. It’s too small to have a bike shop so it would be Kunnanurra before I could get something fixed.
I’m hitching back to Alice tomorrow.
