Day 43 | wobbling along to Sevenhills: 3 wineries is more than enough

31 km | Heading west total: 1,645 km

It was an easy day today. Just a few cellar doors.

I started by being 20 minutes early for Mount Horrocks, but I was able to sneak in. The famous Cordon Cut riesling is, of course, outstanding but all the others are drinkable too.

I stumbled upon Stephen John and had a good chat to Stephen. Not too worried about sales as they all sell out. All also very good. That’s riesling of a few vintages and shiraz.

Then Kilikanoon which was fantastic. Aged riesling and barrel fermented semillon went down well, followed by a touch of the $75 a bottle top shelf shiraz.

Finally made it to Mitchell for more scrummy riesling. I was the only sipper in each of these and could really take my time.

But Skillogalee was packed with Sunday lunchers. Could have missed that one.

Is this a wine trail or a bike tour?

Well, you have to make the most of the local attractions.
