Day 50 | Pintharuka Rest Area: no nature reserves around tonight

79 km | zzOz total: 2,542 km

Came across a field of little daisies today.

This area, ie, the whole of SW WA, but the Mid-West area in particular, is famous for the huge Spring expanses of colourful wildflowers, attracting legions of Grey Nomads in the season, that’s September when they really have their arresting display.

There were a few different patches: white, yellow and a sorta faded crimson, like your grandmother’s lipstick.

Much of the last weeks have been up at 360 m, 1200 ft, and there’s been a sense I did finally do more downhill than up today. The nights have been warmer, 12° in the morning heading to 20° during the day.

Despite it being, technically, mid-winter I do sense Spring in the air and I’m feeling frisky.
