Day 56 | Near Breberie Lake: out on the Carnarvon Mullewa Road

I guess I had thought Murchison Settlement was an aboriginal Town.
It isn’t.
That is, it isn’t a town either.
I discovered it has 16 inhabitants.
Wonder what they do in a place that is isolated enough not to have mobile phone coverage, ie, no internet either.
Well, I discover this also, being a curious fellow.
10 of the settlers work for the Shire, the Murchison Shire, ie, local government. One in the office, the rest drive assorted types of road working equipment: a bulldozer, grader and various sized dump trucks.
Gotta keep that road open, although I note that the Road Closed barricade is still up this morning.
I should point out that this doesn’t officially apply to my non-vehicle: it’s all about “gravel” roads not being damaged by heavy loads.
My heavy load doesn’t count.
