Day 125 | More Warburton: hey, civilisation isn't so bad after all

rest day

Two things for a day of a whole slice of nothing.

Looked in the mirror today and it looks like the majority of the conditioning put on after my time with The Chef has finally evaporated.

Also, seems that I’m heading through here at about the cusp of when it is starting to really heat up. 32°C or so today, but in a month’s time it might be much more. The real summer, ie, January, can be rather unpleasant for the bike tourer, two thirds of the days in January this year were over 40°C, ie, 104°F+.

Heading off tomorrow so I can take a well earned break from tapping out these blogs. 12 in one hit have been quite sufficient. Riding the bike is easy in comparison.

Will be another 10 days until I get to Yulara, no internet connect again until then.

The second half of the Great Central Road is said to be prettier, ie, there is some topography around, indeed Giles, almost on the route, is about 600 m above sea level, the extra 200 m height will maybe make the nights cooler.

I’m ready to rip once again.
