Day 407 | Back to the Jardine River: out alone for once

86 km | zzOz total: 11,728 km

Maybe I could, should, have even stayed another day in Bamaga, but I’ve always had a feeling it’s better to bail too early than too late.

In the end I had 4 nights with Andi and Susie, remarkably restorative days, partly for my body, it sure needed a few days off from the standard level of exertion getting around on the Cape, but more for my mind, rare generosity and kindness that has, now I think about it, been missing from my life for much of my time travelling, ie, for years. It was pretty important to be reminded that you can live a meaningful life, productive at work, and balanced with a daily exercise regime before breakfast, healthy eating in general.

I guess I’ll live like that once I come to the end of my long haul trail.

In the meantime the front wheel is pointed south, ie, towards Wilsons Prom and I’m going to be making tracks in the next few days.
