Decisions made, people informed: date shuffled, finally fixed

Perth is a happening town. Cranking due to the mining boom. Stretched out along beautiful beaches. Terrific climate. Friendly people.

It’s been a year since I rolled down the hills from the Mundi Biddi Track at the conclusion of my 464 day transcontinental east to west excursion.

In the meantime I’ve taught myself some web design and created a few websites. The most complete is this 99 page guide to Outback Australia bike touring, cycletrailsAustralia.com.au.

And I’ve even managed to save sufficient dosh for my eastwards migration. Maybe there could be more, but then again I might never leave Paradise.

As the song says, comes a time. Time to eject from that cosy bed and the humungous delishimo dinners courtesy The Chef.

There’s no single issue to break me out of complacency, just the solid logic: time to go.

The Chef’s been given notice. I’m moving on.

Employment is now terminated. Fffrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

A few days for some preparation, tidying up paperwork, last minute necessities, etc. It’s going to be a long period before I hit another major city, ie, Cairns in a year or so’s time. OK, there is Alice Springs, population 28,000, for summer. At least there’s 3 bike shops there.

The new, last, that’s final, confirmed date of departure: Thursday 9 June.

A little adventure awaits.
