Day 392 | Bramwell Junction roadhouse: with that night time generator pulse

81 km | zzOz total: 11,381 km

Another damp morning, man, if I wanted this I might as well head straight to NZ.

Almost nothing to report, it really was a bland day, if you can call cycling in Far North Queensland bland.

The enjoyable part was the 14 km from the Wenlock River on a surprisingly firm track out to the main road north, the termite mounds taking their inspiration from Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona.

The good news: there was only about 67 km of the main road to share with my fellow tourists, and there were major numbers of them out there enjoying their ride in as speedy a manner as possible short of taking to the air.

Tomorrow I start on the famous Telegraph Track.

One note, as I was eating my large hamburger it became obvious that one of the newish Toyota 4WDs parked out the front was completely trashed: a young bloke, glumly looking on, thinking of all those future payments on a non-existent car, had rolled it obviously at some speed, smashing it fairly comprehensively, although the tyres looked OK.

I had been thinking that some cars were being driven by maniacs.
